What are Morrison County Arrest Records

Morrison county arrest records are official documents that contain the number of arrests carried out in the county. Included in these records are details of alleged offenders/arrested criminals as well as all warrants issued in the county. The county’s law enforcement agencies generate arrest records and provide residents with information relating to the rate of solved crimes in the county. These records are collated and issued to the public by the County Sheriff's Office. Though an arrest record indicates that an individual may have been incarcerated as part of an ongoing investigation, it is no definite proof that the person is guilty of a crime or conviction. Therefore, arrest records are no substitutes for criminal records.

Crime Statistics

According to the index crime report published by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Morrison County reported a net total of 199 index crimes in 2017. Property crimes accounted for well over 90% of these figures with 193 reported incidents. Larceny theft was the most popular property crime with over 138 reported cases, followed by burglary which had 28 reported incidents. Motor vehicle theft was the third most occurring property crime with 27 reported cases, while no single incident of Arson was reported by the County in 2017.

Violent crimes make up a very small percentage of the crime index with only six cases recorded in the county throughout the year. Aggravated assault remained the most occurring violent crime with four reported incidents and just two cases of rape and no single occurrence of robbery. In the following year 2018, Morrison County's index crime increased by 38% with 275 reported cases. Property Crime accounted for well over 90% of the crimes committed. Larceny theft was the most occurring with 184 reported incidents, followed by burglary with 84 cases. Motor vehicle theft was the third most occurring with 18 cases, and none for arson. Violent crimes accounted for six incidents of aggravated assault and two robberies. This trend indicates a general increase in the County's crime rate, especially property crimes, while violent crimes remained significantly low.
