Reports less than 5 pages are free of charge, while reports of 5 pages or more cost 25 cents per page. Photos cost $1 each and CD’s of photo/audio statements cost $5 per disc. In addition to this, the Beltrami County Sheriff’s Office also performs local background checks, which cost $5 per person.

Members of the public can also obtain copies of criminal records through the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension Division of the Minnesota Department of Public Safety.

Obtaining copies of these records cost $8. However, parties who wish to only view their records may do so free of charge. Written requests should include the requestor’s correctly spelled full name, date of birth, other names used including maiden and former married names, the purpose of the request, appropriate payment in the form of a personal check, money order, cashier’s check, certified or business check made payable to the “BCA” and a self-addressed, stamped envelope. All written requests must also be signed, dated, and notarized by a notary public.

Interested parties who wish to access public criminal history records on other individuals may view these records free of charge at the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension. These records can also be accessed online via the Minnesota Public Criminal History Search website. It is important to note that arrest information, juvenile records, court information, and convictions more than 15 years old are considered private information in the state of Minnesota, and access to them is restricted.

Parties who wish to access both private and public criminal history records will be required to provide an informed consent form signed by the subject named on the required record, authorizing the release of the record. How Do I Find Beltrami County Sex Offender Information?

The Minnesota Department of Corrections maintains and regularly updates a Public Registrant Search website that interested parties can utilize to obtain information on registered sex offenders in the state by carrying out searches based on name, city, county, and zip code.

In addition to this, the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension also provides a predatory offender search portal through which members of the public can access the bureau’s database and search for non-compliant predatory offenders by name, age, and location.

How Do I Visit An Inmate In Beltrami County Jail?

Beltrami County allows interested members of the public carry out video visitations with individuals currently incarcerated in the county jail between the hours of 7:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m., 2:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m., 7 days a week, at the lobby of the jail located at:

Off-site video visitation visits can also be carried out online. All on-site visitors are required to have a valid photo ID and must be at least 18 years old unless accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Visits are 15 minutes in length and each visitor is allowed to visit only one inmate per day. Visitors will also be required to adhere to the county jail’s visitation rules, which includes subjecting themselves to a contraband search.
