Anoka County Property Search

Anoka County property records involve official documents that provide important information concerning real properties and estate holdings within the county. The Property Records & Taxation Division is responsible for maintaining and disseminating property records in Anoka County. Property searches are a necessary activity that takes place during the acquisition of real properties within the county. A property search provides a potential buyer or seller with crucial information concerning a property. This is to determine whether the property owner possesses the property free and clear of any issues, such as unpaid debts or zoning violations.

Are Anoka County Property Records Public?

Yes. The Open Records Law, Minn. Statutes 13.01 et seq., establishes a presumption that public data are open to the public and accessible to the public for both inspection and copying. However, certain data are not open to the public unless there is a federal law, a state statute, or a temporary classification of data that specifies otherwise. General non-public data includes security information, which, if disclosed, would probably seriously compromise the safety of data, assets, people, or property against loss, theft, manipulation, inappropriate use, escape attempt, unlawful disclosure, trespassing, or bodily harm.
