From 2021, crimes were grouped into group A (classified into three categories: crimes against persons, crimes against properties, and crimes against society) and group B (bad checks, curfew/loitering/vagrancy violations, disorderly, driving under the influence, drunkenness, nonviolent family offenses, liquor law violations, peeping Tom, trespass of real property, and all other offenses). There was a reported number of 13,525 group A offenses in 2021 and 5,174 arrests within the same period for both adult and juvenile offenses combined, in addition to 767 drug arrests for different substances. In 2022, there were 4,580 group A arrests for both adults and juveniles against a reported 12,315 reported offenses, as well as 627 drug arrests.

Summarily, the report showed a 2.1 percent crime rate for 2020 and 3.7 percent for 2021. However, these numbers are not comparable since they were recorded using different metrics. However, using comparative data for 2021 and 2022, there was a 0.3 percent drop in crime rate for Anoka County.
